  3. Hi, I will get my 8200 this weekend and thought, it would be a good idea to have a backup of the internal SD card. Is this possible with the DEV MOD ? I thought, I saw some script here for the x200 series, but I am no more able to find it. Thanks in advance for your answer !!
  4. Hi i been following this site since i had my Pioneer 4000 nex new about 2 years ago one day i got the software firmware error and had to send to pioneer to repair. Now i have sold that right after repair and got a new 4100 nex. my question is what should or can i do to prepare for the error on this unit or what can i do to prevent it. i'm good at taking radios apart and sd card removal would not be an issue. i have read that pioneer uses a cheap internal sd card that may be the cause of the issue. should i just replace now before i install in my truck. Just looking to avoid a future headache. any replies would be great.

  6. AVIC x100 backup camera

Hello all - first post. Recently my backup camera began acting strangely. The symptom is that the camera will come on when I enter reverse, but when I shift to drive the camera stays on. This worked for almost a year perfectly before this new symptom. Also, tell tale signs that something has changed - This seemed (keyword) to occur when Android Auto required an very recent update on the phone side. I know the two aren't technically connected, but it is coincidental. BTW - all this happened in the last 30 days or so. The screen on the backup camera used to be just the view of the camera. This was when it worked perfectly. Now, when the camera comes on, there is a symbol in the top left of a clock type icon, and and X in an icon on the top right. IF you touch the clock, the camera goes off, and things resume okay. then 15 seconds later the camera comes back on. Clearly this is a 'delay for 15 seconds' button. If I touch the X button, the camera goes off, and never comes back on. In the camera settings, you find the camera is now turned off - as if someone permanently set it that way. VERY odd! More notes, I took apart the dash and tested the backup sensor wire. It gets 12 volts always, and grounds when in park. This switches correctly if you shift in/out of park so not likely a source of the problem. Further info, When I first connected my phone to the unit last year, it was uneventful. It went easy and smooth for the android auto. Now, you have to be in Park to connect a new phone!? This is likely a change to Android auto right? I had to tear out the dash and wire up the Parking brake which I didn't do the first time around as it was unnecessary. I know you can just ground it out temporarily but I figured why fight it. I wired it correctly and reassembled my dash. Lastly, I saw an upgrade to 1.07 firmware on another post. I'm all for upgrades, but that 1.07 - is there possible value? Have other Avic 8100NEX users done it and feel comfortable? The lastest says "1.07G" is that what others have used? I don't want to upgrade if it could break things, and/or has no value for my problems listed above. Many thanks for your shared wisdom. JIm Shimota Happy with his Pioneer 8100 until recently. I use Android Auto, BlueTooth and USB connected Android phone, a Metra 70-5520 Receiver Wiring Harness, and a PAC SWI-RC Steering Wheel Control Adapter and it really does work great!

  8. I am busy with several projects and working with the AVIC-Z150BH and AVIC-X850BT units and every time I switch units in the same vehicle, i.e. remove power, I go through the task of resetting all my presets on AM, FM, and SiriusXM (special HD1-4 stations on the Z150BH), et al, and want to know if anyone is backing these up through Service Mode (a.k.a. test mode). I'm guessing all the WinCE based units are fairly similar. Any help or information is appreciated. Thanks.
  9. Introduction With the Introduction of the AVIC Development Mod (http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/81468-the-avic-development-mod/). We would like to encourage you to backup your AVIC Internal SD Card and its NOR Flash. Lets also keep all backup links and discussion here NEVER ENTER COPY DEVICE MODE, YOU WILL BRICK YOUR DEVICE! The following will show you how to do that: 1. Backup your current BSP and Nor Flash. A. Download the attached NORFlashBackup.zip B. Extract the contents to a FAT32 or NTFS USB Stick. C. Insert the USB Stick to USB Port 1 on the device. D. Follow the "Copy Script Mode" steps. On http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/81468-the-avic-development-mod/ E. Grab the USB Stick and save off the mtd0_backup1 -3 files. (Should your device ever brick, these can be used with a JTAG to fully restore your NOR flash or to find out your default BSP Settings) 2. Backup your Internal SD Card (Skip to 3 if you have an unlocked image you want to use) A. Download the attached InternalSDCardBackup.zip B. Extract the contents to a NTFS (IMPORTANT as FAT32 can not store files bigger than 4GB) USB Stick (You can also use a SD Card on the external SD Card if you edit the script). ALSO: The USB Stick must be bigger then your internal SD Card, to store the image. Known sizes are: 4000 - 4GB, 5000-7000 - 8GB, 8000 - 16GB. THIS IS A CURRENT GUESS. To be safe, use a USB Stick larger than 16GB. C. Insert the USB Stick to USB Port 1 on the device. D. Follow the "Copy Script Mode" steps. http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/81468-the-avic-development-mod/ (NOTE: This can take a long time depeneding on your device's intenral SD Card size. It can also timeout, Pressing the Vol - while this is running every 15 min seems to keep it from turning off.) It took us 45 min to copy the 4GB card on the 4000 NEX copying to USB1. It took ~40 minutes for a 16GB internal card and 64GB external SD Card (copyscript copying data to external SD, instead of the USB) with 1MB block size (bs=1048576 parameter). For someone else it took ~80 minutes for a 16GB SD Card copying to USB. E. Grab the USB Stick and save off the AVIC.img file to your computer. This is the full Unlocked SD Card Image of your device. NORFlashBackup.zip InternalSDCardBackup.zip

  11. Hello all, Having trouble with the backup cam. When shifting to reverse, the screen switches to the backup screen fine...then the darn Caution image may be reversed pops up and blacks out the camera. Annoying. Cant figure it out. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  12. Hi Does anyone have an Australian F940BT backup they can send me as my system has died after trying to perform the "AVIC-F940BT_FW-Update_v4.600". When I performed the update I did the following; Began with - AVICZ110 (folder)and TESTMODE.key System Comm Write - SD 8.05 System stated - Processed and Completed Then System stated - Erasing - Completed cs err Screen stayed in "test mode" for about 1 hour then shut down by itself. My system will not reboot and now has a black screen only with no lights to the controls aswell. I obviously could not update Bluetooth Firmware. I read the "Pioneer Update procedure for AVIC-F(9)(8)40BT" and watched the "Pioneer AVIC-F40BT & AVIC-F940BT iPhone 5 update for AppRadio Mode compatibility - YouTube" video prior to update. This was an easy process although my F940BT did not like it. I contacted Pioneer Australia and they told me to take my system to a Service Agent and have them perform a Software Rebuild. Has any one else had this problem? Any suggestions? Thanks
  13. Hi, I bought a used car with a F9310BT which seems to be the Volkswagen version of the F930BT. I want to do a complete backup and was looking for a way to get into testmode/ service mode (is this the same?) I downloaded "Condi's HACKMODE v1.4 BASE - INSTALL VIA TESTMODE.zip" and was able to get into service mode and I can select files and folders, but I don't have a "COPY" button, see image: Any idea why? Thanks for any hints, Oliver
  14. Hello people! I just registered due to a problem with my Avic F900BT. Generally pleased with the unit and havent had any major problems with it. Until i decided to install a rear-view camera. I got a simple wired camera and had it installed. Seemed to work for a day, but then it wouldnt switch to the camera view when i put it in reverse. Turns out the reverse gear valve/switch of the car had issues. So i changed it. Now what happens is that the unit always stays with the black screen with the notice about rear view images could be reversed. It works when i go to reverse, but i cant get into any menu of the unit at all. Sometimes i have managed to press "menu" or "map" and it shows the start up disclaimer, i can press "ok" and go into the menu. But 99% of the time its just stuck on that screen. Today i pressed "Map" for a few seconds and it got me into my map and menu, but i obviously something is wrong, i shouldnt have to do this all the time. Any ideas? I cant say much about the wiring cause the car electrician did the connection, but we checked it a second time in case there was some mistake. Also i think that if it was some wire, it wouldnt work at all, not only sometimes. Is there a camera compatibility issue with this unit? My firmware and unit version is : Map Version : 02.000600 Version : 3.021000 Its a UK unit. Thanks for any help !

  16. I have an AVH-P8400BH installed in a 2008 Honda Civic EX Sedan. I have a cheap backup camera installed. I have the power for the camera wired to one of the reverse lights. I also have the trigger from the Head Unit wired to that reverse light. When I put the car in reverse, the head unit doesn't always switch to the backup camera view. I'm trying to determine if it's an issue with the Head Unit or with the camera/wiring. It seems to do it more when the car's been sitting in the sun all day, but sometimes it works after sitting and the sun and sometimes it doesn't work first thing in the morning. Has anyone else had issues like this? Is this more likely a Head Unit issue or the camera/wiring issue?
  17. Okay so i am Brand new to this forum, and it has been incredibly helpful so far. But finally i am stumped. I got my reverse camera in the other day and installed it exactly how i am suppose to. Oh by the way, i have an AVIC-Z130BT The hot wire is run to a constant 12V The ground wire is Grounded properly The video cable is run to the rearview camera plug (the brown one) And then there is a wire that turns to a hot 12V when the truck is in reverse, well this wire is run to the back of the unit to the reverse gear signal input. Butttt it won't work? I have checked EVERYTHING with a meter and it reads perfect, and the unit settings are correct too. The camera is turned on and i have tried both ground and battery settings. I don't get why it won't work. now i can plug the camera video cable into the camera input and select it from the scroll menu and it works fine, but i want it to work where i can shift in reverse and it come on automatically. Please tell me what is wrong and how i can fix it. Thank you so much. Tyler

  19. I only thought of this due to me actually requiring someone to upload an original pioneer AVIC-F9110BT with updates as my update from the Pioneer website failed, so it would be a good idea for people like me who diudnt know about this site beforehand and had not backed their old firmware up. GOOD IDEA??
