06PSDDually
Here is my Z1. I like how it looks almost stock. Notice the switch where the ipod is. The install guy put that in without my permision, and did not wire up the ebreak. I don't know if I should be pissed or not.
mbaran
Just wanted to make a note. For those of you killing your selfs with the fixed iPod cable, never fear! I see the last post you drilled a hole and cut a groove to allow the cable to slide down. In places where you cannot do this, removed the 2 screws on each side of hte ipod box. They are the ones over the black, not on the silver. The lid slides off, and voila, there is a removeable connector that is for the ipod. This will enable you to drill a really small hole to get the cable through. Bring it through and you have a very clean install. No warranty stickers were cut either, so they wont even know! 06PSDDually
I was pretty pissed when I saw how they ran the cable. I mean I only paid $46k for the damn truck, go ahead and drill and cut.... the thing is I asked them to install it in the glove box anyway.

Guest temfly
Ducati, I have a 04' Aviator and I just ordered the z1, did you need any special wiring harnesses to complete the install? If so what kind? Also was it a tough install I am very car stereo savy and have replaced many decks on different cars, but not anything near the level of a GPS system. It was time consuming to get power and all to everything: Head unit, sat radio, ipod, my flasher, PAC SWI-PS. Then had to run everything. I ran the sat radio antenna to the roof in the back, but the GPS antenna wouldn't reach so I ran it out the passenger door, up under the right front fender and ran the wire under the windshield gasket and put it on the roof just above the windshield over the passenger's head. It's not bad at all. Lots is lots of room behind the climate control and clock for extra add-on's. You will need the standard Crutchfield wiring adapter and the other adapter too, the one that's mechanical not electrical. http://www.installer-data.com/item/disp ... it=70-1771 and http://www.installer-data.com/item/disp ... it=95-5026 The rear bracket needs to have a hole drilled in it cause the rear threaded hole on the head unit is not in the center of the head unit. Just hold up the rear bracket to the back of the head unit, it will sit flush against the bottom (little lip on the bracket) and against the back of the radio and you will see where you need to drill. It all fits nice. It takes a while, but it works well and installs pretty easy.

Where did you connect all of your power cords to?
I'm assuming that you mean the power cords for the accessories? Like my circuit, SWI-PS, sat radio and ipod... those were the only accessories I installed. If you buy something like this: http://www.installer-data.com/item/disp ... it=70-1771 And then out of that harness to the car you have 12V all the time, 12V switched, and ground. Along with all the speakers and stuff. I just connected it all to this harness. I just got one like that from crutchfield. I know it comes with the sub woofer connection too. If you have the powered sub like mine, you will want to hook the sub out from the head unit to the interface into the sub amp, and you will want to drop the voltage on the turnon line to 5V like I say in this: http://www.avic411.com/forum/viewtopic. ... 22&start=8 The input to that circuit is the amp turn on line from the head unit and the output to that line is the amp turn on line going into the car's wiring. Otherwise you will get a nasty pop when you turn the car on.
