  1. Hammers. J/K....are you sure you didn't insert a disc with a homemade paper label?
  2. Anything in the power/spk socket that may be shorting the output stages?
  3. Post a pic, and you might gain salvation. Sounds like you are ogling the wrong harness....
  4. Will work with the N4, but not the N1/2/3.
  5. Not going to work, the N1/2/3 are one species, and the N4/5 are another. There is no Platypus here.
  6. Sounds like you have an N1/N2 hybrid. You may be in for some work...
  7. Check your connection to the VSS wire, first. And, it should read an increasing voltage in AC, not DC. GM vehicles in that era generally used a dark green with a white stripe for VSS. Also, check your GPS antenna, make sure it hasn't fallen off of it's reflector plate or is sitting upside-down under the ashtray....
  8. Sounds like your unit needs Viagra. (Won't go up anymore?) J/K... Call 1 (800)421-1603, (Pioneer Service) and ask for a general estimate on your issue. Compare that against a used unit. If the repair bill is less than $100 more than a used unit, get the repair and a short(usu. 30 days), but still comforting, warranty(if it's gonna break, it will happen quickly).
  9. Thanks for the update on your solved issue, Garbage, but what about Jeep's problem? You up and running, yet?
  10. Way to go, Plummit!!! Someone has been doing their homework!!! Plummit is correct that the unit will work erratically while in 'initializing' mode, and gain accuracy once it gets its bearings and jumps into 3D mode. This usually takes about 3 hrs. of driving time, or 100 miles...' sometimes more sometimes less..
  11. Did the disc you were inserting have a homemade paper label? I have to extract these homemade discs from CD/DVD players rather often...
  12. Have you looked into your GPS status screen? It is in the Hardware Settings area. Look at your antenna signal strength meter. If it shows a couple of bars, antenna says, 'OK', and you have more than 3 satellite icons showing up, then try Cameltowing's fix, and if not, then replace your GPS antenna.
  13. A drive mech. for $330? You can probably find someone dumping an N1/2/3 with a bad screen mech. for less than $200....You might even be able to grab a complete and functional N1 for a bit more... Be patient, young padawan.
  14. The converter box that is being sold for home use will NOT work in your car, unless you do not plan on moving. Accele has a standalone digital tuner that seems to work well, and I have heard that Pioneer has already designated a model # and SKU for their digital tuner. Expect to hear more, soon.
  15. They most certainly are. Ground both.
  16. Junk, Which N-series nav do you have?
  17. OK, noise problems>>>>different thread. Only understand bypass here....
  18. Go back to the first page of this thread, and look at the third posted picture. Plain as day.
  19. From what I have heard, Pioneer has already designated a model # for their mobile HDTV tuner, but not a release date. I would assume they have heard about the fact standard tv broadcasts will end on Feb. 17th, and have a solution on the horizon.
  20. VSS Wire: LOCATION 3- 3 CONNECTORS ON ECM MIDDLE CONNECTOR VSS Wire Color: GREEN/YELLOW VSS Pulse: 4000 VSS Tach Wire: LOCATION 16- AT COIL Tach Signal Wire Color: RED Reverse - Brown/Yellow at the taillights
  21. Well, the D2 harness will, obviously, not fit the Z2. But, the xchange should be color to color, outside of the video bypass....
  22. Sounds like you need an exorcist, not a technician... Has this unit ever been exposed to anything detrimental, i.e.: water. lightning, severe impacts, nuclear testing?
