  1. My screen always defaults to the last screen it was on. Ipod, or map. Although it will stop at the Map warning screen, of course.
  2. The Ram is a 1.5 din opening. Dash modification required. So it wont fit...easily.
  3. This topic has been covered before then. There are ways to work around it. My suggestion was to run the AVIC red wire wire to your ignition instead of accessory. That wire will stay charged during the crank cycle.
  4. So it is resetting and bringing up the antitheft password screen?
  5. Which speakers does it come from? or is it just the sub? Is the vehicle running or not?
  6. What did the instructions that came with your harness say the pink wire was for? VSS = Lt. Blue at PCM, Right Connector Pin 3 The PCM may be the under the hood, right in the middle of the fire wall with 3 plugs coming out of it. Hope this helps.
  7. ROAD TRIP!!!! And just think, you can use your Nav on the way back home.
  8. You switched the RCA's at the amp, left and right, and the static switched. Did you try running NEW rca's loose to your amp to see if the problem goes away? Good quality RCA's can still be defective.
  9. Before ripping your center console apart, try pulling the deck out and checking the pins on the AV input harness to ensure they are all seated correctly and none of them are pulling out. My front-left negative was pulling out of the harness, and that speaker volume was low when using my ipod, but normal for everything else. If they seem fine, try a new cable, you dont have to run it to test it, just leave it loose. Where did you get this "universal" dock? I don't use one, and my volume is fine...
  10. the wheel speed sensor is the same thing, you should be able to use it. if it doesn't work, just disconnect it.
  11. There have been others that have fit the deck into that truck. Search the forums for the 2002 Silverado install.
  12. VSS Wire: Location 2 Right Connector in ECM VSS Wire Color: Violet/Yellow VSS Pulse: 4000 location 2. Behind passenger side dash and/or glove box.
  13. 2006 Nissan Frontier Reverse Wire = Lt. Blue at Large link connector in Drivers Kick Panel VSS Wire: LOCATION 4- 2ND ROW FROM TOP OF ECM 4TH POSITION TO RIGHT OF BOLT IN ECM VSS Wire Color: GREEN/BLACK I was able to google this info. Hope it helps. If not try googling further...
  14. I would still have to say that my suggestion is the easiest way on that truck. Run the red AVIC (switched power) wire to your steering column. Remove the (4) 10mm bolts holding your fuse panel in place, and gently pull it out of the way. Attach the red AVIC wire (add a fuse for safety) to the Ford's Red/Green wire. (May also be White/Yellow) The radio will stay on during the crank cycle, and will not reset. But you will lose the ability to turn your key back to have the radio on, and will also lose Retained Accesory Power (having the radio stay on after you are done drivin
  15. It's been a while, but if I recall Dodge didn't go 2-DIN until 2006. It could be made to fit, with dash mods.
  16. Easiest way is to run the red (ACC) wire to your ignition instead of the radio accessory wire. It will stay energized during the crank cycle. Only draw back is, you wont be able to run your AVIC by turning your key backwards to ACC.
  17. You don't have to drill through the roof at all. Carefully route the wire along the window seals (for example) and then through the door jamb, where it wont get kinked. Easy to remove if you need to, and no whole to potentially cause any problems. Also if you decide to sell the vehicle there will be a hole left behind.
  18. I never thought of that. I may have to if this cold streak keeps up.
  19. Each speaker had its own amp and the ones I left in still have their respective amps. The nissan wiring harness will allow me to hook up to the OEM wiring without any splicing. So you say it wont work? Humm, back to the drawing board... I really doubt each speaker has its own amp; they might have passive filters or something of the like, but its unlikely that power was run to each speaker for amplification. you're going to have to test and see what happens or find someone with that exact model who already knows the answer The old Dodge Ram trucks with the infinity system used to
  20. I work on cars too (Remote Starter Specialist). I am aware of the voltage drop that occurs when a vehicle starts, but if that were the case my remote starter would also fail to work at the same time. Thanks for the input, chicken999. Maybe the wiring harness module has gone bad from the constant hot-cold. Possibly opened up a solder joint on the circuit board...
  21. Since the temperatures have dropped below 0c (32F, for my American friends) my F90 occasionally starts up with the Antitheft/Password screen. Not really a problem, but still rather annoying to say the least. I am not sure if this is a result of 2.0 being installed, since it wasnt that cold at the time of upgrading. Coincidence? Anybody else? T.I.A.
  22. When my ipod would cut out...I would barely hit a bump, hear a chime from the AVIC, and then the ipod would stop playing and my F90 would switch to the off screen. I could keep driving, hit another bump, hear the chime again, and it starts playing like normal. I have since switched out the cable for the Apple cables, and haven't had an issue since.(With the ipod).
