1. Sorry, I am not to strong at coding...but if someone were willing to create a keygen for the update it would be much appreciated... there is even a tutorial... http://forum.gsmhosting.com/vbb/archive ... 88761.html
2. While I would normally agree with you, I have to take the other side on this one, and with good reason too. First When this series was released it was, well, SHIT. there were numerous bugs, ranging from the SD music not playing to Ipods randomly disconnecting, crappy blue boxes on the map screen, laggy and choppy DIVX playback, faulty MSN direct, slow bootup times, menu navigation lag, god i could go on and on. So when they realeased the 2.0 update they fixed a whole slew of problems...that the community here on AVIC 411 had already fixed. Boxes on the map screen, menu navigation lag.
3. Along the same lines, I am having trouble with my MSN direct...when i hit the status screen I get a Firmware upgrade failed, please reload a proper firmware. has anyone encountered this problem and even better has anyone found a resolution for it?
4. any pics? even better can you remove it? if you can it should be on the back
5. I think the main problem your going to run into is info...your going to have to get a pinout for the factory harness and then ground the parking or transmission sensor wire. if you know anybody with a new copy of alldata id hit them up for a pinout...good luck
6. the biggest problem with that harness is that it id a monstrosity when everything is tied together. And by bypassing those connections you can make the harness way easier to install...though as previous posts have stated the wires are coax in nature and therefore make it nearly impossible to solder together and still get a good signal. Also you might want to get a new harness before you go cutting up the one you already have...just in case.
7. Anyone got any insider info? I know that a while back someone (in some thread) from pioneer said that it would be out in june, but does anyone have a more specific time? I just hope that they make it so that when your watching a movie(Ipod, SD or whatever) that when you restart the unit it picks up where it left off.
8. I still have this problem only mine says Firmware update failed please reinstall a proper firmware... It sucks cause i know that to fix it i will have to send my unit back but i don't use the feature so i think i will ignore it
9. I was having the same problem last night when reinstalling the firmware...follow the following instructions found here: viewtopic.php?t=20119 then when you reboot back into the unit(not test mode) it should ask you two questions...the default language and the TTS voice to use. after you select samantha the unit will reboot again and your good to go. also don't forget to add the data folder back to the root directory of my flash disk(they don't include this instruction, and it is not really important unless you like the button sounds or use XM...just remember to do this step AFTER every
10. I figured this one out last night(it was driving me nuts) the reinstall does not copy back the DATA folder (which contains those sound files) back to your flash disk...if you have a backup though you can simply copy it back onto your FXXX and it should work.
11. Just thought I would share...
12. I know this is ever so slightly off topic but... I just recently(yesterday) installed the GEX-P10HD, and i was pleasantly surprised when the first station i tuned to switched right in to digital mode and stayed there. I had held off on buying the tuner for several reasons(one of which was the news of a new one, and the other was quality control issues.) but when i heard that the new one did nothing new i figured i would save some money. Really i think that the only con for the unit is the Presets labels...it really is driving me nuts. And there is absolutely no excuse for this. Pionee
13. This would also be nice for RDS data from HD tuner
14. Yeah that is def your navigation. Happened to me. the problem is, when you have the voice volume turned all the way down it will still interrupt the music by simply muting it for that split second. all you have to do is turn off the voice as mentioned above. Good luck.
15. Couldn't you just use your car's antenna for TV reception? It might not work in the boonies but in any major city it should to the trick...Right?
16. you might want to check out a standard that is called M-ATSC http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ATSC-M/H I am just waiting for one of these tuners before i hook one up to my F900
17. Wow a 12V rail from an PSU will run the HD addon...nice find
18. Damn dude...you really know your trailblazers...BTW what database are you using to get the info?
19. I am not sure about the Z series...but for me(F series) the CD must be encoded with CD text or else it will not display anything.
20. you might be able to do it on a 3G network however keep in mind that this will have horrible pings and you might lag out of games. you might want to check this out: http://www.evdoinfo.com/content/view/2455/64/ It will allow you to use your PS3 in the car as well as anything else you want to have internet. Good luck
21. just 2 gigs? My quad core at home has 6X that amount of ram...and yes it does run Crysis. just curious though, what were the old system specs?
22. Don't forget GPU's. Which until recently were virtually all exactly the same across a generation with software lockouts like, separate VGA BIOS. I remember Turning a X800 into an X850XTPE with a simple VGA BIOS update, saved myself nearly 200 bucks. More recently however, both ATI and NVIDIA have began to use Laser cuts in the GPU die to prevent these kinds of modifications. For Pioneer it would make sense to utilize a single manufacturing process, it means they don't have to run separate production lines, since they are all identical from a hardware standpoint. all they have to
23. While I agree that the HW may be a simpler solution to the problem, IMHO the software hack is a more robust solution. I believe this for a few reasons: 1. It is in code. Meaning that nothing can wiggle loose and F-you over when you don't Expect it. 2. It is really not that hard. There are numerous tutorials on this site, and honestly if you can use a computer and a Flash card, your in business. 3. It does not wear the harness. When you start swapping wires, you inevitably make the connection loose its grip slightly, and that coupled with the extreme heat and cold that a car i

GEX-P20HD

I wish I could say that I have one, But sadly I do not. I was about to pull the trigger on the GEXP10HD, but I found out that: 1) There are several problems with the GEXP10HD, such as the preset menu and the like. 2) I found out that Pioneer was releasing the new one. So now i am simply waiting for one to become available. And it is not really for the HD radio, It is more for the RDS function, Which IMHO should really have been included in the F series from the start. It is after all a top of the line Series of HU.
25. While I can Sympathize, I have to Disagree. It is an Advertised Feature, He should need to do nothing more than follow the manual to get it to work. Its like saying you have to search this forum just to get a DVD working. It is an advertised feature, it should work out of the box with no problem
