I actually removed my cigarette lighter and installed this dual usb flush mount. I love it and best of all my car wont hold my usb cable hostage and I also hot swap flash drives very easily now. Is will answer this the best I can, You can mirror movies to the back with an sd card or play movies off a flash drive with usb 1 or 2, however as soon as I plug in my phone it disables playing movies on my headrest monitors. its like some weird safety setting I cant get around. I dont have Sirius but I use android auto and carplay with the 4100nex.

I just download videos off of youtube with 9xbuddy, in 360p mp4 format to keep videos files small or 720p with larger flashdrives or the sd card. When I'm feeling lazy I use free youtube downloader to download whole playlists. You may also have some luck with using handbrake and divx converter for dvd's. I just click on divx mobile and everything comes out looking great.

Correct It works through mirrorlink through the usb cable. If you have any issues use another usb cable as the headunit can get picky and let us know how it works for you on the usb 2 port

No Mirrorlink and Most of the units are resistive as opposed to the the capacitive screens from the previous year.

On your Iphone You need to go to settings, General, then Siri and there is an option that says Allow "Hey Siri" Since I'm Jailbroken I have two additional options for While charging and for Always. Also On my 4000NEX and 4100NEX Hey siri works through the Mic perfectly or you can hold the home button on the radio.

It might have to do with the resolution. I use mp4's all the time using http://9xbuddy.com/ You just have to copy and past the youtube link and I choose 360p or 720 to keep the file size small. Video looks great too. You can also try the divx conver from divx.com and choose divx mobile as the output. Please also remember that if you have mp3's and movies you have to choose either vieo music or pictures from the headunit.

Since your wife has the S6 I suggest you follow my solution over in this thread to get Android auto feature on your 4000nex http://avic411.com/index.php?/topic/81835-8000nexgalaxy-s6-edge-connectivity/ I helped them out alot. You just need two apps and a usb cable. Really simple solution.

I updated the firmware and Bluetooth on both the 4000 and 4100, and I'm going to be honest it drove me crazy for a while but I had to use microsoft edge instead of google chrome to download both files and put them on an sd card instead of a usb flash drive. I hope it helps. If you cant get that to work I will put the folder into my google drive and upload a link to it for you. I use the divx converter after I steal youtube videos in MP4 then turn those into divx or avi with the divx converter and then play them on the P1400dvd so that should work for you too.

The version of HTC car is the one on the download button not the google play store link. Instead of adding apps to HTC car Just use it to get automate and add the apps to automate by using the little red star next to the music icon. You can add any app or shortcut from your phone including waze. Please note from time to time you should keep checking the link to automate because they update it frequently. There is a google plus page for it and if you have an issue or feature you want the developer will add it almost instantly.

Just use mirrorlink with the two apps I mentioned and you wont have to buy any wires or apps, Automate is always being updated and Ive customized mine to dispay my name and have other added features. You can even add other apps to automate. Just go through the settings

I don't actually use the car app its just a method to get automate on the screen and use that exclusively. Also if you double tap the home button on the head-unit that side bar on the left will disappear and everything will be nice and full screen.

Yes according to the mirrorlink webiste http://www.mirrorlink.com/phonesthe note 4 is listed as mirrorlink compatible. I know I've used this method for my sisters HTC desire 816 which is how I found out about the HTC car app. A bonus for HTC phones is if you close the app the whole phone shows up on the head-unit with full touch control.

What type of phone are you using, I've also found out that the 4000NEX doesn't like more than three connections so you may have to go to setting and delete some devices and repair them

I have already solved this issue for my girlfriend, I own the 4000NEX in one car and the 4100NEX in another. Since she cant drive a standard she has to use the 4000NEX. Being that they went backwards and removed mhl in the Galaxy s6 Edge plus I have found a work around. Please follow carefully. You must download a mirror-link app to connect to the head-unit. I tried others like Sygic but found the best method is to download "HTC car" I know its a Samsung phone but I promise you will love this. After you download HTC Car you need to download Automate which is a replica of an droid auto with mor

I tried this method and I will honestly say its trial and error. You don't have to use the kit but don't use a cheap USB cable either. I tried to cheap cabled and then a nice thick cable that did the trick. If you see a message saying connecting please wait then unplug and try a different cable. -
This thread looks like it hasn't seen any action lately but if you scroll up a bit ASD255 has been making some progress and has even changed the carplay logo but my questions on his youtube page go unanswered.

Go to pioneers website they have new Acvic units along side the AVH units, like Avic 5100- AVIC8100 and they have button on the side as well instead of on the bottom with both carplay and Android auto

If your phone is mirrorlink enabled just use usb 2 along with the htc car app for mirrorlink. You start the app then exit the app and boom you have full control of your phone from the touchscreen, just double tap the home button on the NEX unit to remove the side bar. Other than that Im a big fan of Automate and ar unchained since I have the 4000nex. Tdell us what phones you are using and I can give a better answer

It could be the lightning cable causing issues, I use the syncewire from amazon that has a lifetime warranty and replacement with no questions asked. very good price and works better than the original. I've had three original wires fail already.

I have an HDMI2AV adapter going to the av input of my headunit. your headrest should be connected to your headunit through the correct manor which is the wire for rear display. Anyways I click AV then click on the rear seats and click mirror. Except if the iphone is connected by usb for carplay it disables mirroring to the rear screens. I usually use usb 2 or the sd card slot on the nex4000 to mirror to the screens in my back seat.
