How To: Find your Vehicle's VSS Wire.

Can someone please help with an install of a d3 in an 07 Yukon. I have the CD/DVD stereo with Rear Entertainment. What do I need to get complete usage in the vehicle(Stereo, Steering Wheel controls and Rear Entertainment, along with Onstar)

I couldn't find Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) for 2005 Kia Sorento.

I found http://www.sorentosite.com/diy/vss.pdf that shows a picture, however, the description is unclear!

 

Also, by searching for my vehicle and looking under "Body Electrical System"->"ETACS (Electronic Time"->"ETACS Module"->"Schematic Diagram" in http://msw.kiausa.com/viewer/default.asp

I see that On Connector "A", Pin 10 is Speed Sensor.

 

Is this the correct wire? If not, then where is it

07 Toyota Tundra CrewMax. Non-JBL radio. Either need a wiring harness that includes VSS and illumination wire or need to know location of wires.

need vss wire for 2004 maxima se with bose. i been told it was like 2 different wire colors but that dosent help at all so if someone says 2 wires please let me know if i can use both wires or what.

Illumination line is from lamp on clock in cubby;

Reverse line is from reverse lamp line in trunk.(GR/BK)

VSS line in pin 9 on the 50 pin DME computer plug under passenger foot panel. (RD/BK)

Okay, having trouble here. I have an '00 Eclipse GT and installed my Z1, but need to hook up the vvs wire. From my searches I have found that it can be found near the cruise control piece and it is a blue/white wire.

 

Is there a more specific/easier location to access this wire? I had my Z1 installed in my '06 Mustang GT (got totaled) with no problems, but I'm having trouble with the Eclipse

Thanks for this sticky! I have a 2005 Hyundai Sonata. The site on the first message does not have a Sonata listed; however, all the other Hyundai's that year show the VSS wire to be the brown wire in the seventh position on the diagnostic plug.

 

I'm assuming that will be correct for my Sonata? If anyone knows, please confirm. Thanks!!

Can you tell me the VSS for a 2007 Dodge RAM quadcab? I had my D3 installed and the installer is saying the VSS is controlled by CAN Bus so would need a CAN BUS to analog converter. Do you guys know what he is talking about? Is it that difficult or is there a VSS wire for him to use?
