  1. I agree, the 3.0 software update improves the response of the system dramatically in the EQ section as well as the fade section...
  2. Yup, I don't know exactly how you would "save" ur WinCE files from 2.0, but if you had a copy of them, then yes, you'd install the WinCE from 2.0, then copy the 2.0 MyFlashDisk over...
  3. Ya there's no reason why you can't do it beforehand....
  4. But there are those who have the hard wire bypass that do not need the soft bypass.... So that step should be optional
  5. I did this as well. Setting it even up to 600-700FT will give you some street names as well, but still, the 2.0 software used to be able to zoom out to abour 1200FT and still display street names. Crappy....
  6. I'm not quite sure, I haven't driven near a building yet that used to be on there with my mod's... Remember, I have an F700BT so they weren't supposed to support 3D buildings in the first place... IF it added it that'd be amazing! I have the F700BT and the the 3.01 firmware installed, and yes there are 3D building in it. Awesome!
  7. And the map scrolls soo much smoother while driving! I have an F700BT that doesn't have the VSS sensor so I always assumed that's why the maps didn't scroll smoothly! WRONG! Much better now!

  9. Followed this guide except kept everything on the SD card (2GB) and re-arranged as needed to put proper files in root directory. Also deleted everything on My Flash Disk before copying over... My F700BT works AMAZINGLY NOW!!! The 3.0 update is the best thing EVER!!! Much better "bleep" sound, shortened and softer, and the response is fantabulistic! I can't believe it! Everything is INSTANT!!! Super happy!!! W00T!!! Now all I want is 3D Buildings, Speed Cams, custom color profiles, and a few mods from CMH's stuff from 2.0 like route delete stop button, push compass to change day/night
  10. This might be a long shot, but I'm trying to think outside of the box... Are you powering ur speakers off the deck? If so, perhaps u have a speaker that's blown and the + and - are shorted together, and when the deck tries to put power out to your speakers it restarts....
  11. You'll have to do a bit of troubleshooting. Get the harness and RCA connections in an arrangement that u can wiggle them around and see where the short is. At first I had a short at the point where the RCA's connect, come to find out I had a bad AV/charge cable from Apple, but I exchanged the iPod cable at the Apple store. However, about a month down the road I started to get faint volume levels out of the left channel. I went back to the RCA connection this time only to find out that was not where it was occuring. If I got directly behind the deck and lifted the entire RCA harness up a
  12. It's not the harness! It's the plug the harness plugs into on the deck. The solder joints where the pins for the connector meet the board are broken. It needs a repair...
  13. SO I have been experiencing the same type of issues described in this thread, my left channel fades in and out when hitting bumps, accelerating/decelerating, or change in cabin temperatures. This is while listening to the iPod only! I found that wiggling the RCA harness would fade the channel in and out. I've read on the forum that it's probably a faulty RCA harness, so I called Pioneer in hopes of being able to exchange it for a new harnes. However, the tech stated that most likely it is not the harness but an actual break in the solder joint where the connector and the main board meet i
  14. Perhaps you should spend more time watching your kids practices and games instead of worrying about watching TV?
  15. I have both my XM antenna and my GPS antenna mounted side by side with no gaps between the two and there is no interferance or anything like that...
  16. I have only incident reporting on my unit in the Hampton Roads area of VA. Unfortunately, it will show you the traffic condition list, but will NOT alert you of traffic conditions on your route. I can have it routed right down an interstate and see the icon of a car flipped over coming up ahead but the unit does not alert me that there is an accident at all. BTW, I have an N3, but I believe they all work the same...
  17. It's a file you need to burn it with Alcohol.
  18. No, it will not display all of that information. But it's not the cable's fault, it's the iPods! They suck at TV Output... If you want an interface like that, check out the DLO HomeDock. I also believe there is another dock such as this one... Basically it's a standalone system that accesses your iPod as an external drive, and has it's own display. The dock would kinda be out of place on your car, I know, but it could just get hacked up as well! You could take apart the unit, connect it to your iPod in the dash or hidden somewheres else in the car. And then run an IR blaster to the IR
  19. This is very good news for everyone involved!
  20. Was yours under warranty still?
  21. That sounds great... However, I'm sure they're only replacing the units that are still under warranty...
  22. If it's anything like the N2/N3, you plug the IP Bus cable into the hideaway box.
  23. Sounds like the unit might have crapped the bed... They sell repairs for the unit on eBay...
  24. Check out Same Day Auto Audio Repairs on eBay. He does repairs on the ribbon cables for these units....
