1. Aren't you the guy trying to charge people for backgrounds? And you are asking him to make them for free? That's a bunch of crap if you are gonna have someone else do the work and then you turn around and sell it. We make these backgrounds for people to use and enjoy their avics. Not for people like you to steal and make money off our work. If anybody needs help with a background, pm me and I will see what I can do.
2. When are people going to figure out that when you do the bypass, you no longer have to hook up the "parking brake" wire????????????? The whole point of the "bypass" is to "bypass" the stupid requirement of having the parking brake on. Just ground all the wires together and forget about it. (as the bypass threads indicate) Seems so damn simple to me.
3. You do know that you can scroll "up" with the D3, going from A back to Z with one button push?
4. If you have a multimeter, you could check to see if that is the same wire. It should be the same wire. Hook it up and see if the avic registers a speed signal.
5. If your factory radio has the speed sensitive volume, then the wire will be located in the harness that plugs into your factory radio. otherwise, the kickpanel is where it's at.
6. There is a screw hole in the back. I believe it is a 5mm hole. You could use metal strapping tape (plumber's tape) and attach it to the chassis. But as the guy above said, if they really want it, they will get it. Make sure your insurance covers theft and vandalism.
7. It's not as difficult as you might think. just get some red and some blue t-taps. The red i used for the vss wire and the steering wheel control interface because those wires are small and I had a connection issue with using the blue taps on those wires.
8. I have a 2007 F150 Lariat and there should no "splicing" to do. I'm assuming you are going to do the bypass mod. Fortunately for us, our vss wire is located in the wiring harness for the radio. (gray wire with black stripe) just put a t-tap on there and plug it in. You can run all the ground wires together as well as the power for the BT module. There is a TON of room in the dash of these trucks. I mounted my BT module directly under the dash tray. (two screws and the tray comes right out, making it very easy to see everything in the dash. You can just mount the BT module on the crossbar
9. The way I see it, if they are going to tell you how to do the mod, then they might as well do it. "Uh, mr Judge sir, I was shown by the shop that installed my Avic, how to make it play video while moving." If it wasan't for them I would never have crashed my car while watching (insert movie title here). If they are truly trying to avaoid liability, they should tell you it can't be done.
10. You guys know that the default phonebook listing is First name-Last name? This is probably opposite of what your phone is. (which would make them all out of order) You can change it to Last name-First name and then it should mimic your phone. Might be helpful.
11. I prefer Sirius, but u can't go wrong with satellite radio.
12. without the vss wire, your nav will not work correctly. the reverse wire is only required if you have a backup camera, but the vss is a must.
13.
Anyone know where to find a decent "base" layer for a background? Like the carbon fiber and such? Not sure what terms I should be using to find something via google.
I use this for my carbon backgrounds. (I left it big because it's easier to work with in photoshop)
14. Everything he says is, sarcastic in one way or another. Just gotta get used to it.
15. Sure, whatever, and I pay "out the nose" for gas too at 4 bucks a gallon, but that's why I work, so I can enjoy driving my gas guzzling 4x4 navigating with my overpriced avic. If you don't like it, phuck off! You do realize I paid 799 for the D3X bundle (ipod, bluetooth, xm, remote) right?
16. Yeah.... and you paid out the nose for it before the rebate. Don't think anybody will be posting here anytime soon. The offer just started basically. It'll probably 10 weeks easy for even the first person to get theirs. I don't know about that. Bestbuy sells (and they sell alot of them) the D3 by itself for 999. I paid 840 for the D3X package and the SWI-PS, shipped to my door. For what I got, I don't think that's a bad deal.
17. I have a 700w, works like a champ with the jetware. Pushed the phonebook right over. I have not setup the voice rec yet, so I don't know if that works.
18. Damn dude! you need a bigger amp.
19. Sorry man, I have Sirius, not XM and I don't have a 24/7 warning. There has to be a way to turn that off.
20. Just goes to show that I didn't even bother to look at them. Since I didn't need them, why would I? The point I was making was that when you buy stuff from ebay (I buy/sell ebay, so don't get butthurt about this) sometimes you don't get everything you want/need. Is saving 10 bucks or whatever, worth the time spent trying to figure out why your stuff doesn't work? For me, NO. Just my opinion. But, if you still want my resistors, you're welcome to em. p.s. did I mention that my steering wheel controls work perfect?
21. You know, that "stupid thing" lol
22. Who cares if the mirror moves? if the bass is hitting hard enough, you can't see out of the mirror anyways. no matter what position it is in. (I can still remeber the high school days when I had four 12's in my Blazer)
23. I don't think it has anything to do with being a tard. Just take the time to read the posts and it will be very clear on how to accomplish this. I think people go awry when they try to follow the instruction manual that comes with the D3. One thing to remember, the D3 is not meant to be "bypassed" and once you bypass, the standard instructions do not apply.
24. You would have the capacitors if you would have bought it from anywhere other than ebay. (actual retailer). They come with the swips. You can have mine if you want them. I have a ford f150 and dont need em.
