  1. Never were hard feelings. I currently have no mods. They were erased when I did the 2.0 update, never bothered to put them back on because I was contemplating getting the 90, which I did. But my old hacks are on this forum with pics, I erased the blue boxes pre 2.0 and changed the clock colors. I also was the first to post a modded VR screen and I have pics of my old Umbrella Corporation theme. My car's at the dealership so when I get it back and install the 90, I'll be doing a few of Maverickster's mods, and possibly the Leetlauncher. Pics of my RX can be found in the "Post pictures of your c
  2. Too vague of a question. Subs vary from different brands, some can handle more than others. Look at the specs of the subs you're interested and match the RMS wattage.
  3. I agree with you that the search function is not 100% efficient, but it does get the job done....all I typed was "speedometer hack" and narrowed it down to hacks and mods in the F series: http://avic411.com/forum/viewtopic.php? ... meter+hack It's halfways down on the first page Most of the members that tell a new member to search are the ones that either contributed the info or have read up and it and know it exists. We don't say it to be a jerk about it (at least I don't think so?) but your comment on useless threads doesn't make sense IMO. I don't think us telling members to search
  4. Game consoles are riciculously easy to hook up to the unit, Simple video and audio in plus an AC/DC power converter. What your attempting is different. I'm not 100% on this, so other members please correct me. I'm not sure if the unit supports a feature to view pictures. No doubt that your cam would come up if you plugged in to Video in, but if I understand your intentions right, I don't think it's possible to have pictures come up unless you were changing he splash screen which in that case would require a USB drive or an SD card..
  5. Ironic, I just heard Panasonic is getting out of the car audio business...I hope he didn't take your advice lol
  6. It's normal to lose your settings when you disconnect the battery or if it goes dead. That's the point of the Constant wire, to keep your settings when the car is off. Your best bet would be to write down all your settings so you know exactly what they are when they have to be changed.
  7. Non US ones don't have US maps. Did you by any chance check out the Nav before updating?
  8. 1. Almost. You also have to ground out the mute wire in it's new location. 1 up and over 4, between the 2 black wires. 2. Illumination wire will dim the unit when the parking lights/ headlights are turned on so the unit is not so blindingly bright at night. 3. You don't HAVE TO, but hooking it up will give you a much more accurate reading. Also when you lose GPS signal ie entering a tunnel, the unit relies on the VSS wire to continue accurate readings.
  9. It's not a bad deal, but you can buy a Z1 for cheaper, buy a Z3 drive from Garrettomey, and you have a Z3 for half the price. Refurbs are a toss up. You never know if they were 100% fixed, or if he fixes are permanent. But the same can be said about new units as well, never know if you'll get a defective. I think if you buy a refurb you should at least be backed by some kind of warranty to cover your own. Also Hifiaudioonline is a great seller, I've bought from them many times, never had a problem.
  10. You're gonna need an SDHC card and the FAQ section
  11. If the unit locked you out when you turn the headlights on, you are definitely on the wrong wire. I'd just move the mute wire and ground the 2, and boom. Bypassed. If you are not going to the correct location to tap your VSS, then chances are you're on the wrong wire. There are many of the same color wires. Is it possible you got the right one? yes, but not likely. What I got for your VSS wire is Blue/White at the ECM found in the Center Console in a Gray 32 Pin plug, Pin #3 Also I did a flush mount Mic in my car and my Fiance's car. Looks Factory.
  12. 12v ACC is switched, when the vehicle turns on, aka Red wire off the GMOS harness. and IIRC the PAC module should have it's own power wires as well.
  13. Wow, that's strange. The iPod SHOULD stop playing when the vehicle is turned off, just like if you take the headphone jack out of it. Nexttime you have your iPod active in your vehicle, watch the iPod when you go to get out. If it's still playing, it could be an iPod problem or maybe the cable? I doubt it's the unit but I had an 80GB Vid, now have a 120GB classic, and my fiance' has the 30GB classic and we've never experienced that.
  14. Shoulda made your user name Uberdefensive. If you found other threads asking the same or similar topic, with no progress on the actual topic, then maybe it's safe to say it hasn't been figured out yet....but already asked about. Oh, and C4 has only 5 posts more than you and he told you to search before I did, so the post count remark really doesn't apply here
  15. there's 2 jacks in the back that look identical, make sure you're in MIC in and not the wired remote input.
  16. Well, here's my screen. I pieced together different ideas and came up with this:
  17. Yeah, dawgbone's awesome. I dont think I've ever seen him say something mean. But jesus christ OP, do you have something against searching!?
  18. Good Job, smartass now no one's gonna help you Well played, sir. Well played..
  19. Did you read that he has no experience and 90% of his questions are avic related? how is a scion forum gonna help him more than an avic forum other than how to disassemble the dash? Yes, and they have covered just about every install including wiring lights^^ Granted. Still haven't answered the question though. If he's having all his questions answered here why would he take the time to register to another forum and search/post there? Seems unneeded IMO. Also did you go to school for the degree or you just made an appointment to take the test? I want to take the MECP exams but
  20. Are we even talking about the same thing? lol I thought you asked for some carbon fiber textures and I left you a link to bunch of them ... lol i didnt someone else did Tom did, S4.
  21. If you see a purple test it. But do yourself a favor and buy a test light. put the car in the on position and with the brake up, put the car in reverse. clamp the alligator clip to a ground (try a bolt on the firewall by the steering column) and now test those wires. DO NOT PROBE ANY TWIRLED WIRES! when you find one that lights up the tester, put the car and park and test it again. If it still turns the tester on, keep searching, if it doesn't, thats your reverse wire.
  22. That looks awesome. I may have to redo my splash after seeing that
