  1. Spending 10 minutes learning the unit and skimming through the provided settings will shed a lot of light for you. The VR options are in AV settings. amazing that the manual would hold that information. wow Not really, no. That's actually what the purpose of the manual is - to enlighten purchasers about the particular item they purchased. What IS amazing, is that you come on here asking a question that has been covered MANY times over, and would have been able to be answered by a very small amount of time and effort by using the search function. . . 3. Check on page 135 of your operational manual. It will show you step by step procedure on how to do this. Does no one read the manual anymore? Correction: Does no one read anymore?
  4. I've heard of lag when folks attempt to play movies/music vids from their SD cards (I don't have any direct experience with that as I've not tried it myself) Though I have played movies AND music vids from my iPod and can't say that it has ever happened to me. Mine are also MP4 formatted files. Sorry, I couldn't say why that is happening, but wanted to let you there was someone else that had the same type of files that WEREN'T experiencing the same problem you are encountering. Sorry! Hope you get in resolved! Kev
  5. In re-reading your post, you don't seem to be experiencing this through the VR system, but rather by trying to specifically play them in your list that shows up. The fix below probably won't help in that regard, but worth a try anyway to see what happens. If not, I'm am indeed puzzled! I can only assume that this is related to the same thing that happens when one disconnects their iPod, updates it on their iTunes, and then plugs it back into their AVIC unit without having the VR mode set to on. If you think that is what might have happened, go to your Settings, AV Settings, and turn "o
  6. watkch01 - with you all the way! One of the best compliments I ever got was from one of my wife's co-workers. He used the old saying "your husband does not suffer fools gladly". I proudly agree! Cheers, Kev
  7. Hey there Pete! Let me know when you get the dash piece today! (I sold Pete the double din fascia for his G from another site) CatchMe is one of the more stellar dudes on the site, so if at all possible, I would attempt to have him help you out. Let us know how it all goes, and make sure you do a ton of research on this site in regards to the F-series. So many problems are solved, tips shared, hacks done, etc. that I really think it is the best headunit out there right now. Good luck, and stay warm during that install! Cheers, Kev
  8. Funny, while I was reading whoopidoo2's post I felt I just HAD to chime in. I also own an Infiniti - a 2003 G35. And the ENTIRE, complete, total reason I purchased the F90 in the first place is because some f*ckstick engineer thought it would be a greeeaaat idea to put both the climate controls AND the radio electronics on the SAME circuit board. I have no idea how much they saved using that little stunt, but after about 4year, my circuit board (oh, along with a few THOUSAND other owners) simply fried out, negating the use of A.) my CD player, B.) climate controls and C.) drained my batte
  9. Well, it's been a while since I did that update, but I don't remember it taking much longer than 5-10 minutes. It sounds as though something might be messed up. Others than are more dialed in with this hopefully will chime in, but I guess if it were me, I'd try to re-do the 2.0 update and then try the Bluetooth once more after that. It can't hurt, and might do the trick. Sorry I couldn't be of more help, but wanted to at least confirm from one other person that it probably shouldn't be taking that long! Cheers, Kev
  10. It's probably not that no one wants to answer your question, but more likely, no one can confirm it. They'd need to have the same setup/situation as you do to let you know if it works or not. My guess is no, but could certainly be wrong. It would take looking at the wiring connector from you OEM unit and seeing how it matched up to the AVIC's. I definitely wouldn't CUT any wires to make it work together as you may end up compromising your AVIC antenna by doing so. Let us know if you get it sorted out. You may need to visit a professional installer or your dealer to find out for cer
  11. Make sure you have all the harnesses, equipment you'll need for the install - nothing worse than discovering you need an addtional wiring harness or connectors or something andhave to put everything on hold! Also, power it up and run through the different functions before putting everything back in the dash to confirm everything works and that your antennas are getting good readings, etc. Good luck and take your time! Cheers, Kev
  12. I have a '03 Infiniti G35, also with a BOSE stereo in it and can confirm that that is indeed the harness you need. Good luck with the install! Cheers, Kev
  13. This happened to me just the other day. I was talking to my brother on my iPhone 3G (through my bluetooth connection on the F90) while driving, and once I returned home I just pulled out my iPhone and waited - it took maybe 5-10 seconds , but after turning off the car, the call was once again on the phone itself. I didn't know if this particular scenario is what you are asking about, or if you can do it WHILE driving, but turning off the car returned my call to the phone itself. I don't know if it is possible to do while the unit is still on. Give it a try and see it that is your e
  14. I have the exact experience as does CamelTowing. Close to 9K songs/videos/movies and it updates in approx. 10 minutes or less. Hope you get it squared away - should NEVER take that long! Cheers, Kev
  15. Almost without exception, my album art on my Mac looks great. There is the odd one or two albums that I cannot find a decent image for, and those a re a lot more pixelated. That said, they ALL look pretty lousy on the F90. A lot worse than they do at what ever size I could see them on the Mac itself. I am of the opinion that it something to do with the way the software of the F90 is "reading" those files. The reason I say this is because the image I used for my Splashscreen looks great. All the art files for the iPod, not anywhere near as good. Do I wish they looked better? Yep. I
  16. The CD with the owners manual that came with your unit gives a complete step-by-step on how to do it. If you don't have yours, the owners manual is available to download on the Pioneer site. Cheers!
  17. I live in the Ann Arbor area, and we have had a couple of days close to zero - no problems in booting up or operating. In fairness, I do let the unit completely boot up (i.e., connect to my phone, etc. before using VR or whatever) and it seems just fine. Hope it clears up on you! Cheers, Kev
  18. chenzi, I hope all goes well with your purchase, but if not, and you have the desire to bash this unit in the future on this site - do us a favor and put the specifics of your purchase in your signature. I wouldn't want other folks that purchased their units to give credence to what will most likely be problems that wouldn't ordinarily happen to one that had come from normal retailers. Cheers, Kev
  19. It almost sounds like the battery of the iPod itself might be the problem. How old an iPod model is it? Could be that it has to have IT'S battery replaced? Cheers, Kev
  20. I wear my sunglasses at night! Whooooooo! Bringin back those good time 80s vibes, extreme!!

  22. Perfect solution, Diane! This is one of those instances that some people that had a hard on to bash this unit would go off about how lame it is - but your very solution is a very simple and effective way of making it work. And soooooo much easier than having to click and scroll while driving! The VC of the iPod was probably THE single biggest reason I purchased the F-series, and it works almost flawlessly for me! Little story: My 8 year old was in the car with me over the weekend, and he wanted to try saying something funny to it like, "Hey, hot mama, why don't you play the artist

"Hey, I want to play a DVD movie in my F90, but when I go to that menu, it's greyed out, what's up?" "Oh, you mean I actually have to put IN a DVD disc for it to play one?" (sigh)
  24. Silly, silly, cranbers - actually TRYING to be sarcasticlly intelligent on THIS site!? Don't be reeediculous! Folks either get it or they never will, don't you know! LOL! I give you props though, your amount of effort to the OP exceeds by 10-fold their effort on these units. Sad as that is. Now let's start a pool on how long it will take him/her to post up on what a POS these are because they can't do one of the 206 things they "think" it should do!
