solrackm
Thats exactly what i tried out and the just shut off the dvd and some the the nav menus. If there is a way to bypass the warning we will be good to go.
Guest jack
so i guess the user that said that you could just ground the parking brake was bs... now i wounder if the guy with this magical bios flash an fix these problems ?
solrackm
probably the only way to bypass is using a switch.
edrock200
Anyone seen or tried this? If installed properly turn the lights on and off 3 times or use a toggle switch."

jack
does he mean flash the headlights 3 times or the z1 lights 3 times. i might just install my z1 tomarow and try this out.

The original poster is saying if you have it installed properly, ie dimmer hooked up to your headlights, all you should have to do is turn your lights off and on 3 times. solrackm
gentlemen, this bypass really works! I also read the same thread earlier this afternoon on 12 volt. Here are the steps, 1. make sure your wires are installed properly, 2.make sure your ebrake is off, 3.you must be on a xm,sirius or someother source except for dvd when you start the car, if on dvd the z1 will recognize it and shut the bypass off. 4.when the z1 is starting, hit the lights 3 times before any music starts, otherwise it wont work. 5. afterthat check the nav menus to see if you can press everyone. and thats it. I'm already use to turning my lights on when I get into the car, now I just do it two more times. :) I've pm'ed the OP to see if he has confirmed this first hand. I do agree with you though, a simple relay would make for an elagant solution.
Guest
FYI first confirmation in that thread above that it works.
solrackm
I drove about 40 miles roundtrip testing the bypass, everything worked like a charm. make sure you do not pull the ebrake up at anytime during your travel otherwise it will lock up.
JasonH
Thats Awesome!!! Tomorrow I'll start working on designing a relay that will do it automatically. About how long is the time window in which you can flash the lights? Most relays need a half a second to switch over.
Guest
just use a pac tr7 and program it for 3 positive pulses upon turn on, easy as that.
edrock200
Sweet. I'm gonna go buy one before Pioneer fixes this.

That's a great idea, just saved me a lot of time! Who would think it would be so simple? hehe.
