I'm going to try this when I get home since mine is freezing up every now and then. It's wierd if I leave it for a while it will eventually go back to normal.... what a tempermental system. Kinda like it has it's own monthly period???

Just be sure to get your wire diagram from the web with the wire colors and all and take your time. It shouldn't take you long at all once you finally get the dash apart.

I hope you paid those guys in beers instead of real money. I would definetly go get my money back from those jerk offs. If your stock radio had built in lights when you turn on your lights (which I'm sure it did) then the the wire harness should have an illumination wire unless they somehow gave you the wrong wire harness. One thing I noticed is that with the newer cars if they slightly modified the harness from the last year, they will try to use last years harness on the newer car. You might have to join a Ford Forum and find out what which wire is the illumination wire for your truck. A

Did you read the manual? It's used to change the display of the map, either North always up or your direction is always up and the map rotates. I personally tend to use both.

Well I just bought mine a month ago and tried to update and it will just tell you "Update Already Applied", it won't actually do anything bad if you try.

Go into your hardware settings and make sure whoever did the install actually hooked up the parking brake wire correctly. When it's on you should see it say the parking brake is on when it's up and off when it's down obviously . If you don't ever see it turn on when you pull up the brake they messed something up.

I wouldn't take him to your house what ever you do or you might find your Z2 magically gone. Heck I wouldn't even feel comfortable knowing he had my license plate number. Nothing against George but I don't trust people one bit on the internet unless I actually met them prior. And this is coming from someone who already had his N2 stolen about a month ago.

I have a Z2 and did the 2 wire bypass, worked like a charm. Nav functions work when I'm driving, just haven't tried to see if the DVD player will work while I'm driving.

What state/city to I need to avoid???

internal amp overheating? I'm not sure if the Bose systems in the 350zs have a stock amp or not. My eclipse did with my infinity system so maybe it does. Maybe there's a compatibility issue with a stock amp if one exists?

I'm by no means a pro at this system but maybe I can offer some advice. While your parked go into the hardware settings and make sure your GPS antenna is green with a bunch of antennas which mean you have a good link. Another thing I noticed that while driving, your VSS will show you increasing in speed on the same screen as above. Maybe you can make sure it does this. Can anyone elaborate on my ideas. I may be steering him in the wrong direction but being wrong is better then not trying anything at all.

FYI if anyone needs one burned I have a dual layer burner so I could burn it if necessary....I just need the file.

well it is a DVD so I would say look for a pretty decent size ISO. Less then 4 gig though I'm sure. My Z2 didn't come with map disks which I'm surprised, my N2 (before it got stolen) came with 2 map disks one for east coast one for west, they were both DVDs, and yes I know it's because there's no internal HDD.
